1. Who We Are

Netr ("the Platform") is operated by Netr Pty Ltd (ABN 61 699 881 037, ACN 699 881 037), a company registered in Australia ("Netr", "we", "us" or "our"). We are the entity responsible for handling your personal information under this policy.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect your personal information, and how we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). It applies to our website, mobile apps and related services.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account on Netr, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: Your email address, full name and password (securely hashed).
  • Profile information: Your professional role, state/territory, company name, suburb, bio, specialties, website URL, LinkedIn URL and profile photo.
  • Usage data: Messages you send in channels, files you upload and your online presence status.
  • Technical data: Browser type, device information and error logs for debugging purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the platform, including real-time chat and member directory features.
  • Display your professional profile to other members within the community.
  • Route you into relevant channels based on your role, state and specialties.
  • Send essential account notifications (password resets, security alerts).
  • Monitor and improve platform stability and performance.

4. Sharing Your Information

Your contact details (such as your name, email address, phone number and professional role) may be shared with our Lender & Industry Partners for the purpose of facilitating professional connections and industry engagement.

You may also be contacted by Netr, or by our Lender & Industry Partners, in relation to products, services or opportunities relevant to your professional role. You can opt out of partner communications at any time through your account settings.

We also use trusted third-party service providers to run the Platform. These providers only access personal information to perform services on our behalf and are bound to keep it secure. They include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure (Vercel) to serve the website and apps.
  • Authentication and database (Supabase) to manage your account and store your data.
  • Email delivery (Resend) to send account and service emails.
  • Caching and rate limiting (Upstash) to keep the Platform fast and secure.

We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, to a regulator or law enforcement body, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Netr, our members or the public.

5. Overseas Disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. By using the Platform, you consent to your personal information being stored and processed overseas for these purposes.

6. What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We do not serve advertisements or share data with ad networks.
  • We do not use algorithmic content filtering that hides messages from your channels.
  • We do not use your messages to train AI models.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We use Supabase for authentication and database services. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time through your account settings. You may also contact us to request a copy of all data we hold about you. If we decline a request to access or correct your information, we will explain why and how you can complain.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

11. Children

Netr is intended for finance and industry professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us at privacy@netr.app. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
