When you create an account on Netr, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: Your email address, full name and password (securely hashed).
  • Profile information: Your professional role, state/territory, company name, suburb, bio, specialties, website URL, LinkedIn URL and profile photo.
  • Usage data: Messages you send in channels, files you upload and your online presence status.
  • Technical data: Browser type, device information and error logs for debugging purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the platform, including real-time chat and member directory features.
  • Display your professional profile to other members within the community.
  • Route you into relevant channels based on your role, state and specialties.
  • Send essential account notifications (password resets, security alerts).
  • Monitor and improve platform stability and performance.

3. Sharing Your Information

Your contact details (such as your name, email address, phone number and professional role) may be shared with our Lender & Industry Partners for the purpose of facilitating professional connections and industry engagement.

You may also be contacted by Netr, or by our Lender & Industry Partners, in relation to products, services or opportunities relevant to your professional role. You can opt out of partner communications at any time through your account settings.

4. What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We do not serve advertisements or share data with ad networks.
  • We do not use algorithmic content filtering that hides messages from your channels.
  • We do not use your messages to train AI models.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase for authentication and database services. All data is processed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time through your account settings. You may also contact us to request a copy of all data we hold about you.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Netr ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

The Platform is open to individuals aged 18 years or older. While the Platform is designed for Australian finance professionals, membership is open to anyone who wishes to participate in the community, including individuals seeking to connect with finance professionals.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate professional information in your profile. Misrepresenting your professional role or qualifications is grounds for account termination.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post spam, unsolicited advertising or promotional content unrelated to professional discussion.
  • Harass, abuse or threaten other members.
  • Share confidential client information or personally identifiable information of third parties without consent.
  • Use the Platform to conduct unlicensed financial advice or services.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or circumvent platform security measures.
  • Upload malicious files or content.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform. By posting, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive licence to display your content to other members within the Platform. We do not claim ownership of your messages, files or profile content.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our community standards. Members can report messages or behaviour to our moderation team. We aim to review all reports promptly.

7. Service Availability

The Platform is provided "as is." We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is a communication tool and does not provide financial advice. We are not liable for any decisions made based on conversations or information shared on the Platform. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us (which is $0).

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Australia.
